Nag-CCC
ka ba? Homecoming na! is set for October 28, Saturday at the University
Theater and Theater Grounds of the University of the Philippines Diliman campus. Philippine
Campus Crusade for Christ's 35th Anniversary Celebration and Grand Alumni
Homecoming aims to gather 2,500 PCCC alumni and supporters.
Having to start with an old PCCC database
updated through the years, the Alumni Mobilization Team took on the challenge of
locating more and more alumni in order to gather them for the homecoming! The team, headed
by over-all event coordinator Leeboy de Velez, started to add names to the database by
asking PCCC staff for the names of all the alumni whose contact numbers they still have.
Of late, the staff was able to give 1,200 names of alumni!
With daily contacting people in the
database to invite them to the anniversary, a single phone invitation happens to merit
more alumni names from the person invited!
The team has also organized reunions
of these alumni from the different campuses where the PCCC campus ministry was
established. Some have already come together for their campus reunion.
In July, Mapua and UST CCC alumni have
already had their reunion. In August, Adamson CCC followed. Upcoming campus
reunions will be that of UP, Unibelt and La Salle! These reunions are one of the main
strategies to reach as many alumni as possible for the anniversary.
"We also looked for 'key alumni
people' in the campuses who can help us mobilize for the reunion and invite as many alumni
as possible", Dongdong Tiangco of the Mobilization team says.
Having gone beyond the campuses, PCCC is
also bringing together everybody who was formerly or is presently involved with its
community ministries such as the Influencers' International, Artists In Touch, Athletes
In Action, The Christian Embassy / Executive Ministries, Musical Ministry, Church Resource
Ministry, Military Ministry, Managers for Christ, The Family Life Ministry, Every Chinese
for Christ and the Medical Ministry.
Promotions for Nag-CCC ka ba?
Homecoming na! become more and more exciting. They range all the way from posters
and flyers to broadcast plugs to our own alumni website,
!!!
"Nakaka-excite nga lalo na 'pag
may natatawagan akong alumni na nagsasabing 'Talaga?! Matagal na nga akong naghihintay ng
reunion e.'", Lynn Colasito, a member of the team, laughingly recalls about her
phone invitations.
More and more alumni, ministry
partners and supporters are becoming interested about the anniversary and
homecoming! Many are confirming attendance and the Mobilization team is still counting!
