Leo
Armas, missionary-church worker, was with wife Ammi (then Marasigan, from UPDiliman). They
brought their daughter Camille, son Mark and baby boy Michael.
Staff couple Ricky and Carol (then Elec, from UPLB)
Magno was also present with daughter Rjoy. Meanwhile, Tony Natividad of the PCCC National
Office Computer Services Department came with Janet (from UPVisayas) and adorable son AJ.
Still another Mapua-UP couple who graced the event
was Ted de Ocampo, who was formerly involved with the ProMin (Professional Ministry)
Quezon City, and wife Melody (then Meneses, from UPDiliman) who was a staff member before.
They brought pretty daughters Francesca and Bea.
It is heard from the grapevine that the Mapua-UP
chemical bond trend still continues up to now. (chismis lang naman) But who
can help it if Leadership Training Conferences have delegates from the different
universities?
But still, theres a strong true-blue Mapua
couple Regie and Evelyn (then Ramos) Bacani. The Bacani brood, who was also in the
reunion, was Johnel, Abigail and Micah.
It was a grand time for everyone to see each other
after a long time (some married, some with kids, some with grey hair, some with
crows feet, but nevertheless, still appealing).
The reunion, which started at three in the afternoon
and ended at eight in the evening, brought together the different batches from the
70s to the 90s.
"It was an encouraging time. Maganda kasi you
discover who was your disciplers discipler and your disciples disciple. You
can see how a chain was continued", Nelson Lo, a Mapua alumnus and staff, said.
Regie Bacani of batch 77 was the oldest
alumnus in the event while Jerry de Guzman and Emmanuel Marzo of batch 94 were the
youngest.
Of course, Mapua staff couples were also present
Art and Annie Adriano and Phillip and Rachel Baron.
The alumni had fun, food and fellowship (and chika
to death). They reminisced memories of slimmer figures and enriching friendships during
their college days.
And so, the Mapua alumni did not leave the place
saying goodbye but rather responded to the challenge to form a core group for the
MIT-CCC Alumni Association.
